Dear Parents and Carers,
We are in December already and almost at the end of the first term!
I must say it has been a journey we would never have thought to plan for. What with the pandemic and the building works which the children are coping so well with.
We have all been working through a new way of communicating and keeping ourselves safe
through it all.
Thank you so much for sending your children into school daily and for entrusting them in our care. They have done beautiful learning and remote learning has worked well for those who have unavoidably had to isolate.
We have also managed to get on with the usual celebrations within our curriculum such as the book fair which raised over £1000 – thank you all who bought the lovely books we had on offer from the ‘Scholastic book company’, it shows how well you think about the importance of reading. We will definitely use whatever commission we are given to secure more reading books for the children.
Children as well as staff took part in our odd socks day and the whole school managed to chat with Sarah Jones (MP) during our virtual assembly. We must say thank you to Sarah for answering the children’s highly inquisitive questions.
We celebrated Black History Month, Diwali, anti-bullying week, transgender week and road safety week with different activities and lights! I must say the children have enjoyed their learning and satisfied their curiosity in all ways possible.
Going round the classes always gives me so much joy, children displaying and sharing so much knowledge during lessons confirms that our learning ethos aligns with the high expectations and high standard at Park Hill Junior school. Please take time out to read this newsletter with your children.
What remains is for me to wish you all a restful holiday when you get there, stay safe and be alert!
We will see you all back in school on the Monday 4th of January 2021.
