Sports Premium

 

The government is providing additional funding of £150 million per annum for each academic year until 2020 to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding in order to improve the provision of physical education and sport in primary schools.

Swimming:  All classes have the opportunity to participate in swimming lessons at Royal Russell School.

As of November 2018, 55% of the Y6 cohort are meeting the national curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25m, using a range of strokes effectively.  This figure will be reviewed as swimming lessons are completed each term. 58% of the previous cohort could swim this distance competently, confidently and proficiently.
